How to Load a Mini Digger onto a Trailer Safely

Loading a mini digger onto a trailer is where a lot of accidents happen. Done calmly and correctly, it’s straightforward.

Loading safely

  1. Park the trailer on firm, level ground and chock the wheels.
  2. Check the ramps are rated for the machine’s weight and properly seated.
  3. Track up the ramps slowly and squarely, bucket low and leading where possible.
  4. Centre the machine over the axle, lower the bucket, and stop the engine.
  5. Secure with rated lashings at the manufacturer’s tie-down points — front and back.

Check your weights: the digger plus trailer must be within your licence and towing limits. Not sure? We deliver and collect across Norfolk & Suffolk, so you may not need to transport it at all — ask for a delivered quote on any of our mini diggers.
