Augers Made Easy: Fence Posts and Footings

Digging post holes or footings by hand is slow, hard work. An auger turns a morning of digging into a job done in an hour.

Handheld or excavator-mounted?

  • Handheld augers: great for fence posts and smaller holes in reasonable ground.
  • Excavator-mounted augers: for footings, deck posts and larger volumes, fitted to a mini excavator.

Know your ground

Stony or root-filled ground is harder going, so choose a suitable auger diameter and take it steady. For a run of fence posts, mark and measure first so spacing stays consistent.

We supply augers and excavator attachments to suit our mini excavators, or as standalone units. Delivered and collected across Norfolk and Suffolk — request a quote for availability.
